Class Pet

Dear parents,

Students have been taking care of caterpillars. The students watched them go from larvae (caterpillars) to pupa to adult (butterflies). Here are some photographs of the class pet. The class will release the painted lady butterflies on a dry day.

Police Officer

 Dear parents,

My husband visited The Academy to discuss being a police officer.  The students watched a slideshow presentation, tried on his bullet proof vest, and asked questions. Every student received a goodie bag with a sticker and coloring book.

Annalisa's Science Experiment

Dear parents,

Annalisa's science experiment was messy and fun! The students reviewed their five senses and created Play Doh using household materials. Enjoy the photographs of the students exploring.

Bella's Science Experiment

Dear parents,

Bella provided interesting facts about the human heart. She talked about her slideshow presentation and showed a video clip about the heart. Her presentation ended with eating a healthy snack.  Thanks Bella!

Holy Communion

Dear parents,

Carys made her First Holy Communion last Saturday. It was a beautiful service and she did well. The class is very proud of all her studying about the Eucharist.

Solid Figures

Dear parents,

Students are learning about solid figures (sphere, cone, cylinder, cube, rectangular prism) and their characteristics. The kindergartens learned that some solid figures roll and some can be stacked. Here are the students finding items in the classroom which are solid figures.  They also were testing which characteristics (to roll, stack, or slide) belong to each solid figure.
