Color Monsters

Dear Parents,

You probably already saw our Color Monster Booklet.  I have used this book before with previous classes.  We drew our own silly, unscary color monsters and copied the words into a book.  Each page practices recognizing color, color names, and rhyming words.  Below are the words we have practiced and love to read.  


Colors, Colors


Red, Red
Forget it's head.

Yellow, Yellow
Sat in jello.

Orange, Orange
Squished an orange.

Green, Green
Is a dancing queen.

Blue, Blue
Is sick with flu.

Purple, Purple
Had to burple.

Pink, Pink
Sat in the sink.

Black, Black
Plays quarterback.

White, White
Bites at night.

Gray, Gray
Ate a lunch tray.

Brown, Brown
Your jeans fell down.

Orange and Red
Eat gingerbread.

Gray sees White
And shakes with fright.

Orange lets Black
Ride piggyback.

Purple and Blue
Eat barbecue.

We read these funny color monsters at our pocket chart.
