Community Worker Show-and-Tell

Dear Parents,

The students brought in great items for our show-and-tell today.  The students enjoyed hearing about what the item was, who uses it, and why the community worker needs it.

Donovan brought in a Goniometer used by physical therapists.  It measures the range of motion of a body joint.
Michael brought in a Stereo (fly) test and 3D Glasses, which an Ophthamlic Technician uses to test depth perception.

Carys brought in a shingle and described how a roofer uses them.

Bella brought in a few objects.  First, she brought in a surgical mask and cap that a nurse would use.  Then, she brought in a police badge and police patches.

Every student looked at the police patches.  Everyone is holding up a police patch in this photograph.

Elisha also brought in a stethoscope and listened to a few students' heartbeats.

Mary Grace brought in two items an Iron Worker needs, a tape measure and metal bracket which helps holds buildings together.

Christina brought in an airplane to talk about pilots.

Nicholas showed us a stethoscope that nurses use to listen to heart and lungs.

Nino showed us photographs of SCBA mask and described how they worked.  The masks are used by Fire Fighters to breathe through the smoke.  He even gave facts about the mask.

Chase brought in a real Fire Fighter's helmet.  It was quite heavy.

Angelica talked about how a baker makes muffins and the students got to eat a muffin.  She even sent some muffins home with the students.

Respectfully,
Mrs. Sibick
